New Zealand - 1970 - Numismatic Society Of Tauranga - 50th Anniversary - Silver & Copper Medals

This set commemorates the incorporation and fifth anniversary of the Tauranga Numismatic Society Inc.

Obverse: The Society’s seal, depicting the area’s Standard with Mount Maunganui in the background.

Reverse: A New Zealand fern, the diesinker’s initials (H. K. Graham) with a scroll, and the word ETHOS (the community spirit of an institution, or the tendency of its people as expressed in their culture).

Designed by the Society’s Executive in 1970 from copper and sterling silver. Limited mintage.
