Design 

Featuring a portrait of the Queen, this coin has been made in celebration of Her Majesty’s 95th birthday and her important connection to New Zealand. A mānuka branch sits to the right of Her Majesty’s portrait. A symbol of health and wellbeing, the mānuka flower represents the Queen’s current relationship with New Zealand, as all nations continue to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. This nationally significant flower is commonly seen in New Zealand and is world famous for its honey, representing both health and economic prosperity. The use of a mānuka flower also links to the Queen’s love of floral dress, and a long-standing royal use of flowers to represent a connection to the countries they govern.  

All coins this issue feature the small 'Crown over E' privy mark, which appears on the Queen’s Royal Standards for Commonwealth countries.
